Marijuana and Schedule I drugs — the federal rule has no exception

The $49 Medical Card Kit — $49, one-time payment

The checker reads your verdict. The Kit gets you through the exam: documentation packets for your condition, the two 45-day form clocks run as a calendar, the official medication form packet, waiting-period calendars, failure recovery, and the examiner phone script.

What the federal text says

A driver is not qualified while using a Schedule I substance. The rule's prescription exception does not exist for Schedule I: marijuana is a Schedule I substance under federal law (21 CFR 1308.11), so a state medical card, a state recreational law, or a doctor's recommendation changes nothing federally. There is no FMCSA exemption program for this, and no examiner has discretion to certify a driver who is using it.

What that means for you

Not qualified — and this is the one medication page where the answer does not soften. No examiner shopping changes it, because there is no judgment call in the text for an examiner to make.

What moves the outcome

The only door is no longer using it. Be aware the medical standard on this page is separate from DOT drug testing (Part 40) — the clarifier page explains the difference, and a positive drug test carries its own separate consequences.

Which mode is this?

This question is decided by the federal text itself. The verdict above is computed from the cited words — your examiner is bound by the same text.

Only a certified medical examiner on the National Registry can certify you. FreightVerdict reads the published federal standards — it does not certify, diagnose, or treat, and nothing here is medical advice.
